Contemporary buildings as lookout areas in the landscape

A FREE all-day Design Cafe visit to Kielder Forest - Thursday 14th July.

Kielder Forest Park, in Northumberland has both the biggest man-made lake in northern Europe and the largest working forest in England; it covers 250 square miles. Most notably for our purpose, it also has some of the most interesting contemporary viewing structures, and small buildings in the country.

Peter Sharpe Director of Art and Architecture at Kielder, will lead the tour, and talk to us about the works, the artists and architects he commissions and the ideas behind placing uncompromising contemporary works in the natural landscape.

The Park is large and we will be using our bus to move between locations with stops as per the itinerary below. This is a rare opportunity and places will be limited.

In order to see as many structures as possible please bring snacks to keep you energised throughout this busy and spectacular day. Lunch can be purchased at Kielder Castle cafe or bring your own.

Disabled Access - Unfortunately, the Park terrain is demanding and therefore not suitable for wheelchair users.
