Womens & Girls Sports Day 2010

Furness Academy South Site and Duddon Canoe Club, Sunday 4th July 2010 - 1pm - 5pm

This FREE event is an excellent way for women of all ages to try something different, make friends, learn new skills and improve their health. The day will include a series of 4 FREE 45 minute taster sessions every hour on the hour between 1pm and 5pm, allowing you to try out four different sports. No equipment needed, just come along appropriately dressed. Throughout the day there will be demonstrations, tournaments, coaching and taster sessions. Everyone who takes part on the day will receive a FREE goody bag!

Activities on offer on the day include Athletics, Rugby League, Cheerleading, Football, Canoeing, Orienteering, Power Kites, Walking, Table Tennis, Cricket, Dance Mats, Step, Body Pump, Hip Hop, Spinning and Rounders. The canoeing is taking place down Cavendish Docks and the Orienteering starts from the Pavilion in Barrow Park

The FREE multi-sports day aims to encourage females to participate in physical activity at any level, from recreational to competition.

Barrow Borough Sports Council wants to help women and girls in sport and is committed to helping organisations and individuals maximise the potential that women and girls offer. Each sport on offer on the day has an exit route to a club that women can join.
